To be clear, Christopher Oldcorn , the SBC is separate from the IFBM. (I say that because I couldn’t tell if you’re lumping them together, or simply adding another facet to the discussion.)

I come from the IFBs, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. I never ran up against a sexual assault case in the churches I was part of, but the authority structure is a perfect breeding ground for heinous crime. The two — SBC and IFBM— are separate, however, and need their own, separate examinations.

I am curious about your experience with the IFBM — is it personal or just noticing the obvious? As someone who has left, I am always curious to compare my experience with others who have been involved with the denomination.
