Resolved: To Heal

An unhealed person can find offense in pretty much anything someone else does. A healed person understands that the actions of others have nothing to do with them. Each day you get to decide which one you will be. -Unknown

And there it is, all laid out in black letters on white background. This is one more step forward — recognizing that being hurt does actually mean you got hit. And, you haven’t healed, yet.

It’s a “new year” and a “fresh start” and there’s a weariness that washes over our hearts when we think of how many times we’ve tried this thing, and drowned in the disappointment of all we never finished, found, made, or got to be.

Forget the pressure. Throw away the expectations. Choose, this year, to chase healing…and let every single breath forward toward that end be enough.

Heal long, and heal hard, and recognize every. tiny. thing. that is pulling you away from this, and learn to either set it down for good, or carry it in a way that won’t bump the bruises.

This is for you. This is for them. This is for everyone and everything, the trustworthy and the intangible, that actually matters. This is not about “me first,” this is about “first, what matters.”

This is about light…you cannot spread it by walking in the dark.

This is about love…and you cannot know it till you are held by it, and you will never know how to be held in His Love till you are healed by it.

Living unhealed is not life, it is existence. Chase healing as if life depended on it; it does.
