Oh, I so agree. I used to follow Dean Karnazes, the ultra-marathon runner. He’s done crazy stuff. And I mean cray-cray: 50 marathons, in 50 states, in 50 consecutive days, for one. He has trained himself to sleep 4 hours a night, and that’s it.
I used to want to do that. “THINK of all that could be done!” I imagined to myself. (Then I became a mom, got about 4 hours of solid sleep a night, and absolutely changed my mind, but that’s another story.)
But the parts of my life where I was only sleeping only 4–6 hours a night, on purpose, (college, young adulthood, etc.) showed up in my skin. Stubborn acne. It didn’t go away until I started sleeping more.
