Mission work — we were primarily in the Akwaya subdivision in the Northwest region. Lots of long, difficult, and beautiful hiking to get to bush villages.
Our experience was both life-altering and many-faceted. (In fact, my husband and I got married as a result of our time spent working there together.) I learned so much from simply experiencing the deeply different culture, observing the amazing resourcefulness of many I met, and having to depend on God in challenging circumstances. I am very grateful for the time I spent in Cameroon.
I am so very sorry about the nation’s current turmoil. We have several friends, both American and Cameroonian, who have been forced out because of it.
